New Org Onboarding
Work-In-Progress.
Hello. Welcome to the platform. A few things to know.
Roster
The Roster is where you organize your Groups and Roles.
Group
Groups can be defined as either Exclusive, or Non-Exclusive. The names for these can be defined in the admin, with with the defaults being:
- Assignment = Exclusive
- Department = Non-Exclusive
A player can be in one Exclusive Group at a time and in several Non-Exclusive groups at the same time.
Once a Group is created in either form, it cannot be changed to the other.
Group has a handful of fields:
- Name
- Full name of the Group
- Acronym
- Shorthand for the group name, also used in the ident string
- Group Type
- Assignment / Department
- Parent
- Higher Group or none
- Rank Set
- Defaults to "Use the Org Default" but is definable for situations where a group would use a different Rank set
- Description
- Markdown enabled description text for the group
The purpose of Groups is to organize players, so Groups also have definable Roles.
Role
The default Roles created automatically are:
- In Command
- Member
Role has a handful of fields which can be set:
- Name
- Full name of the Group
- Acronym
- Shorthand for the group name, also used in the ident string
- Leadership
- Toggle to indicate Role is for Leadership.
- This grants access to various Leadership tools in the platform
- Singular
- Toggle to indicate this Role can only be filled once in this Group
Enlistment Settings
In the admin there is a section for "Enlistment Settings".
Two switches for handing the desired enlistment process:
- Enable Applications
- To allow new players to join or not. Used to disable enlistment activity.
- Require Enlistment
- To use the /enlist application process or create players automaticly on /enlist or marking attendance to an Operation
A Group and Role should be created for new members. Generally something like "New Joins" or something along those lines.
Orphaned players without an Assignment group will not able to mark attendance to Operations.
Discord Bot installation
The admin view has the command to plug in the discord bot to a server.
The "Install M4E bot" button will initiate the process to connect the bot to a server you have access to.
Ranks
Notes on ranks and Promotion Requirements
- Ranks can have definable "Promotion Requirements" which are used in the /dashboard system
